Alícia Alvarez Vaquero is a professor of Aesthetics and Mass Media at Blanquerna (Ramon Llull University), where she is also member of the Culture and Audiovisual research group. She co-directed the documentary “BCN ¿Sello discográfico? (about independent record labels in Barcelona) in 2014, and she writes for magazines like Concepto Radio,. Broadly, Dj Mag, Playground and Beatburguer.. Hip hop, local electronic music, the fan phenomena, the relationship between music and internet and the links between ghetto and mainstream are some of the topics she writes about.. Recently she has completed her PhD dissertation about the evolution of television music journalism in Spain.
