Alexander Stojanovic is the Head of Machine Learning and Applied Research at Splunk. Previously, he served as Vice President of Applied Research and Machine Learning at eBay, managing machine learning activities globally. He was the founding Vice President, CTO, and Chief Architect of the Cisco Cognitive Computing and Real-time Analytics SaaS. platform - now a part of the Cisco Cloud Center product line. Prior to Cisco, Alexander was a Vice President and CTO at Oracle Corporation, working on the design and strategy of Oracle’s public cloud platform offerings with an emphasis on machine learning-based SaaS offerings. He served as CTO for the Oracle Data Integration Cloud Services and founded both Oracle Data Catalogue and Big Data Preparation Cloud Services. Alexander has also held founder and leadership roles at MAANA. At Microsoft, Alexander founded and led Azure HDInsight, SQL Server Semantic Engine, and Microsoft Solver Foundation product lines. Alexander is an active angel investor and advisor to innovative AI and ML-driven start-ups, including Kosmos AI, Wave Computing, Sapiens Data Science, Roambee, and DataRPM (acquired by Progress Software in 2017).. He is a graduate of Santa Clara University, he resides in Los Gatos with his family - wife Tatjana and daughter Mina - enjoying electronic music composition, Leica photography, cinema, and sailing.
