Dr. Aaron Burstein obtained his BS and Pharm.D. degrees from the State University of New York at Buffalo. Dr. Burstein completed his post-doctoral research fellowship at the Dent Neurologic Institute where his training focused on investigational treatments for neurologic disorders, including stroke and epilepsy, as well as on. pharmacokinetic/pharmacodynamic data analysis techniques.. He subsequently held an Assistant Professor appointment at the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy prior to joining the National Institute of Health’s Clinical Pharmacokinetics Research Laboratory where he collaborated with NINDS investigator on PK/PD analysis as well as maintained an independent research program focused on the evaluation of herb-drug interactions.. Prior to his current position at vTv Therapeutics, Dr. Burstein was Senior Director at Pfizer where he held various positions of increasing responsibility within Clinical and Developmental Operations organizations, with a focus on investigational products for CNS indications including Alzheimer’s disease.. Dr. Burstein is a Fellow of the American College of Clinical Pharmacy. He has 14 years experience in the pharmaceutical industry and has authored numerous original articles and scientific abstracts over his career in academia, government and industry.
