Adam Carroll

As Chief Science Officer at Amplion, Adam uses his 25 years of experience in biomedical and data science to develop the Deep Learning models that power our approach. Adam believes deeply in the power of data analysis to improve human health and derives the greatest joy from managing interdisciplinary teams to achieve results that would be. impossible otherwise.. Prior to founding Amplion, Adam was a Director at Bend Research (now part of Lonza) where he ran technology development programs in several areas, including nanoparticle drug delivery and biotherapeutic production, as well as led the team that built the activity quantifying algorithms in the Nike FuelBand, the first wrist-worn accelerometer-based activity tracker. Before moving to Bend, Adam was an Assistant Adjunct Professor at UCSF, where he ran the Center for Advanced Technology.. Adam earned a PhD at UCSF in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and a BA in Chemistry at Williams College.
