Alex Zhou

Alex joined Qiming Venture Partners in 2014. Qiming Venture Partners is a leading venture capital firm in China with over $3 billion asset under management. He focused on USD and RMB investments in early stage TMT companies, particularly in enterprise IT (Cloud Computing, Big Data, Cyber Security) and frontier technologies (artificial intelligence,. robotics, VR & AR, Blockchain, IoT, etc.). Alex has worked as board director/observer with entrepreneurs at UBTech, Chaitin Technology, Hypereal, ABC FINTECH, XSKY, GraphSQL, SequoiaDB, Transwarp, Megvii/Face++, Fraudmetrix, Unisound, Rockrobo, etc.. Alex started his venture capital career at KPCB (Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers) where he worked at Beijing and Silicon Valley offices. He worked closely with TiDAL Systems (acquired by Micron), HiWiFi, Amprius, Alta Devices (acquired by Hanergy Holdings), etc.. Before beginning his investment career, Alex worked for HP (Hewlett-Packard), where he gained deep exposure across such various functions as engineering, sales and marketing, and management. In 2008 He oversaw the company’s data storage business unit in China, delivering $160 million in revenue.. Alex is co-chairing the Columbia Business School Alumni Club of Beijing.
