Was director and childhood friend Farhan Akhtar's first choice for the title role in DON(2006), but producers concluded that a more experienced actor was required for remaking the 1978 classic of the same name. Akhtar therefore settled for Shahrukh Khan. Roshan made a cameo as Don, with Khan wearing a latex mask of Roshan in the sequel DON 2(2011).
