Most recently, Valerie led the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency’s cybersecurity and resilience efforts for supervised banks and served as the inaugural chair of the Federal Financial Institutions Examination Council’s working group on cybersecurity and critical infrastructure.. Prior to joining the OCC, she was a managing director at. Bank of New York Mellon, where she led the global business partnership to re-engineer the firm’s enterprisewide information-risk program. Valerie previously served as a senior cybersecurity official at the Federal Reserve Board, as well as at the Treasury Department, where the president appointed her deputy assistant secretary for critical infrastructure protection and compliance policy. She also was an associate director for public policy at KPMG. During her career, Valerie has served on the White House’s task force on identity theft, as co-chair of the Financial Services Sector Coordinating Council’s policy committee, and on the board of directors for the Internet Security Alliance.
