Alowiba brings extensive experience from the investment management and financial advisory world to the Movement Capital team. She founded Haflok Capital in 2008, prior to which she was a Director of a private equity firm investing in North Africa and South Asia. She was a top-ranked investment analyst, initially covering Emerging Markets and later. developed markets at Merrill Lynch. Educated in Nigeria and England, she received an LL.B in Law and Politics, has an LL.M in Corporate and Commercial Law, an MA in International Relations, oh, and an MBA as well. From her extensive experience working and investing in Africa and other Emerging Markets, Alowiba believes that the most effective way to fully realise the potential of a developing economy is to invest in growing private businesses - thus optimising returns for investors, management and the local community.. When she’s not stuck behind her desk, Alowiba prefers to be at the bottom of the ocean or the top of a mountain. She’s a guru on the hard corals and mega fauna of the Indian Ocean… and the après spots of St Anton. Her more local happy place is the National Gallery in London, having a particular love of Turner and Frida Kahlo.
