Abhishek Banerjee joins us as the Chief Technology Officer given his deep background in payments and Fraud prevention engineering along with Big Data and Analytics for leading digital organizations in Silicon Valley. He will be heading up all of engineering for Emergent for payments, fraud risk, compliance and big data analytics to enable customers. reach their goals.. Prior to joining Emergent, he was the head of engineering for Payments, Fraud Risk, Big Data Analytics for Western Union Digital Ventures based in San Francisco where he worked for over 3 years. He led a global team providing cutting edge platforms for payments in over 200 countries and complex Fraud risk platforms managing billions in annual digital volume. He brings in vast experience in integrating directly with Aggregators, Payment Gateways, Banks, debit networks, schemes and local clearing switches in over 100 countries. He built brand new state of the art platforms that cater to multi-tenancy, cross border currency management, global settlement, cards, online banking, offline banking, mobile wallets, bank account and debit payout integrations to name a few. He was also instrumental in building out an industry leading fraud and risk platform that does real time risk management for digital traffic from senders in over 35 countries paying out to receivers in over 200 countries. He engineered a big data Hadoop platform that is used for fraud risk, compliance, marketing segmentation and business intelligence and real time conversion analytics. He also spearheaded the payments and risk management for WUConnect, a brand new platform where payments solutions were successfully embedded for hundreds of millions of users globally in social media platforms like WeChat and Viber. He also built out an account payout network that can reach out Mobile wallets, Bank accounts and debit cards for over billions of accounts worldwide in over 60 countries.. Before joining Western Union, Abhishek was in Symantec based out of Mountain View for 8 years heading up their payments, fraud risk, recurring billing and business intelligence engineering organization. While in Symantec's digital ecommerce organization, Abhishek successfully built cutting edge payments platforms that processed over 2B in annual revenue in over 180 countries. He also spearheaded building out risk platforms in all countries Symantec digital did business in. He masterminded an auto renewal and recurring billing engine that was a 1billion dollar business. The revenue growth of eCommerce was largely due to in-house platforms that Abhishek and his team built that moved the entire digital business previously outsourced to third parties into fully owned platforms that were agile enough to handle ever growing needs of the digital transformation.
