Amer Matar, Chief Technology Officer at Moneris. Amer is responsible for all technology aspects at Moneris. This includes product software development, business applications software development, technology infrastructure engineering and support, and information security and integration engineering. Amer joined Moneris in December 2000 and has led. building the technology function from 20 people to over 300 staff. Amer has 20 years in experience in payments with 12 of them at an executive level leading technology and product functions.. Prior to Moneris, Amer held several senior leadership and management roles at RBC, BCE Emergis, TD Bank and Imperial Oil. He holds an undergraduate degree of Computer Science from University of Montreal and an MBA from Rotman School of Business at the University of Toronto.. Amer is an active member of several industry forums including the Global EMV business advisors. Amer has also been an active member of the community where he has coached sports for community and competitive teams.
