Dr. Sugg’s expertise is in the design, development, and manufacture of compound semiconductor and photonic devices for communications and scientific applications. Prior to founding Vega WaveSystems, Inc. Dr. Sugg served as Director of R&D and later as Vice President of Engineering for Sensors Unlimited, Inc. (Collins Aerospace Systems), a. leading manufacturer of InGaAs p-i-n photodiode arrays for telecommunications, imaging and spectroscopy products in Princeton, NJ. Dr. Sugg earned a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and a B.S. in Mathematics from North Carolina State University, and his M.S. and Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
