Aananth is an accomplished executive with deep, hands on expereince in technology and design lead product development in both corporate and startup environments. He has built, scaled and monetized technology products in markets stretching from North America to South Korea. A natural leader, he believes in building A-player teams with an emphasis on. genuine people development.. In a career spanning 14 years, he started with software engineering roles at Oracle corp and Amazon.com where he built solid foundations in systems thinking, design of large scale systems, product development and team building. He moved to Singapore with Standard Chartered Bank where he acquired critical business skills and rose through the ranks quikcly to lead the bank's nascent mobile banking team.. As the Global Head of Mobile Banking for the consumer bank, he oversaw development and launch of the multi-award winning Breeze suite of mobile applications across 12 markets in Asia, Africa and Middle-east. Breeze transformed the bank's mobile banking landscape and catapulted the bank from a digital laggard to leader. This was accomplished in 3 short years with the help of a world class team of product managers, designers and technologists who he recruited and developed globally.. Most recently, he was Co-Founder and CTO at www.welab.co, a peer-to-peer fin-tech startup based out of Hong Kong and China. At Welab, in a span of just 2 years, he built the region's first p2p platform with a lean team of 30 engineers and successfuly transplanted & scaled it in China. Apart from playing a pivotal role in raising US $20 million venture investments from Sequoia capital and Horizon Ventures, he actively contributed towards IP development, customer acquisition strategy, operations and risk management.. Aananth lives in Singapore with his wife and 2 daughters. He is an active meditator and spends his free time volunteering for NGOs involved with holistic education for kids which is an area he is most passionate about.
