Alejandro Martinez was appointed as Quintiles’ Chief Information Officer in December 2014 and serves on its Executive Committee. He is responsible for meeting the needs of Quintiles’ Information Technology (IT) internal business units and functions, working in close partnership with the company’s executive team. Alejandro develops Quintiles’. internal global technology strategy as well as oversees all aspects of Quintiles technology operations inside the company. Alejandro joined Quintiles from General Motors (GM) where he had served as the CIO of GM Europe since 2006, based at their European HQ in the UK. Previously he led IT for GM in Latin America, Africa and the Middle East, having joined GM as its CIO in Mexico. Prior to GM Alejandro was director of IT and strategic planning for truck and bus manufacturers Paccar México and Méxicana de Autobuses. Alejandro earned his BSc and Master of Science degree in computer science at Mexico City's Universidad La Salle. He attended the Oxford Advanced Management and Leadership Programme at the Said Business School, University of Oxford, U.K.
