Alex joined IVP in 2016 as an Associate focused on investments in FinTech and enterprise software. Alex draws upon his experience working with SaaS, enterprise software, and financial services companies on market analysis, go-to-market planning, product, M&A, and capital raising.. Prior to joining IVP, Alex worked at Hootsuite as the first. corporate development team member, hired after its $165M Series B round to develop and execute growth and M&A initiatives – which resulted in numerous acquisitions, product launches, co-marketing and technology partnerships. Alex was also instrumental in raising $60M in late stage equity and debt capital to further accelerate sales and product. Prior to Hootsuite, Alex worked on event-driven credit opportunities as part of the Leveraged Finance group at CIBC and, before that, started his career working with notable private and public companies in the M&A and Financial Institutions investment banking divisions at BMO Capital Markets.. Alex serves as a mentor to startups in The Next Big Thing, a fellowship that accelerates youth entrepreneurs aged 17-25 in developing their ventures.. Alex graduated with First Class Honours, holding a BBA from the Beedie School of Business at Simon Fraser University.
