As Director of Business Development for Globeleq, Alex is responsible for leading power project development, acquisitions and financing in Africa.. In 2013, Alex led the development team to financial close of the Azito Expansion project which increased the Cote d’Ivoire plant’s capacity to 430 MW. Then in 2014, Alex led Globeleq’s acquisition. of the Kribi and Dibamba generating assets in Cameroon and is currently finalising the development activities relating to expansion of the Kribi facility to 330 MW.. With a strong engineering and commercial background, Alex has more than 20 years of experience successfully advising and negotiating private power projects in Africa, Asia, the UK and Europe. Prior to joining Globeleq in 2011, he worked for AES Corporation, Entergy, Linklaters and BP.. Education: BEng Mechanical Engineering from the University of Manchester, Diplomas in Law and Legal Practice from the University of Bristol, and an MSc in Management from London Business School, of which Alex is a Sloan Fellow.
