Alexandria Procter is 28 years old and lives in Cape Town and London. As an undergrad student at The University of Cape Town, she was elected onto the Students Representative Council. In this role, the extent of the student housing crises in South Africa became apparent to her, and so she launched a website called DigsConnect.com, which was to. become the largest student housing platform on the African continent just two years after launch. She dropped out of her postgrad, and she’s now the CEO, cofounder and Head of Product at DigsConnect.com. The company lists more than a million beds across the globe, from Tokyo to Paris to New York City.. DigsConnect.com raised a record-setting R12 million for their seed investment round in 2019, a year after launch. It's the largest seed round raised by a female founder in South Africa to date.. She was appointed to the board of directors of the National Youth Development Agency by President Cyril Ramaphosa in December 2021. She’s also a director for the Cape Innovation and Technology Initiative. At 28 years old, she’s the youngest director on both boards.. She publishes a newsletter called The Aviation Club, writing narrative nonfiction articles, and runs a YouTube channel on tech startups. She’s a member of Mensa United Kingdom, and is pursuing her private pilot's license. She circumnavigated the globe at 17 and has summoned Kilimanjaro and trekked to Everest Base Camp.
