Adriano Farano is co-founder of Watchup, a Stanford startup that reinvents the way we watch the news with an app that gives you all the best news channels in one personalized newscast. Watchup was named one of the Best Apps of the Year by Google Play, it's been featured on the Apple and the Amazon AppStores and won one Webby in 2016. Watchup. leverages partnerships with 170+ video news publishers such as CNN, CBS and Vox Media. Previously, Adriano was an entrepreneur in residence at StartX, the Stanford startup accelerator in Palo Alto. Prior to StartX, Adriano was a '11 Knight fellow at Stanford, where he researched on new ways to augment the news experience on mobile and tablets.. From 2001 to 2009, Adriano co-founded and ran cafebabel.com, a pan-European online media outlet entirely translated in 6 languages with offices in 35 European cities.. As a journalist, he has written for Le Figaro, Le Monde, Courrier International, Radio France Culture, Project Syndicate and other media outlets. Farano interviewed leaders such as the president of the European Commission Jose Barroso and writers such as Roberto Saviano and Erri De Luca.. Adriano lives in the San Francisco Bay Area, loves cooking and has recently built a pizza oven.
