Kristina Åberg is a Swedish film and TV producer, she is one of the founders and the CEO of Atmo. Besides being the producer behind films like Boy from Heaven (2022), Eld & lågor (2019) , Omicidio al Cairo (2017) , Tommy (2014), Metropia (2009), and Ångrarna (2010), Kristina Åberg has produced several TV-series and documentaries, including Gitmo (2005) by Erik Gandini and Tarik Saleh.Kristina Åberg is also the executive producer for Apflickorna (2011), and Videocracy - Basta apparire (2009).Before founding Atmo, Kristina Åberg worked as a producer for several SVT productions, and as a reporter at the foreign affairs desks of national news programs. She has been on assignments in the Middle East, South Africa and Bosnia.She holds degrees in journalism and has also studied political science and business management.In May 2022, her latest film with director Tarik Saleh, Boy from Heaven (2022), premiered in the main competition at the Cannes film festival.In February 2019 Kristina Åbergs latest production, Eld & lågor (2019) by Måns Mårlind & Björn Stein, premiered nationwide in Sweden.In 2018 Kristina Åberg was awarded with Guldbagge (The Swedish Academy Award) for Best film - Omicidio al Cairo (2017) by Tarik Saleh.2017 marked the international theatrical release of crime thriller Omicidio al Cairo (2017), a collaboration with Atmo director Tarik Saleh.She has also been named Producer of the Year in Sweden for her work with Metropia (2009).Between 2010 and 2012 Kristina Åberg was the chairman for the film producer's section of the Swedish Film and TV producer's association.Kristina Åberg is a member of The Swedish Broadcasting Commission and a board member at Filmproducenternas Rättighetsförening, a collection agency for film- and TV producers.
