Conductor, composer, arranger, orchestrator, violinist and bandleader whose orchestra was regularly featured on a number of network radio programs of the 1940s including "Beulah". Al Sack, a native of Cleveland, Ohio, began his career as a violinist under the tutelage of Rudolph Ringwall, the assistant conductor of the Cleveland Symphony Orchestra. Concentrating on arrangements and conducting, Al became the musical director for Olsen and Johnson productions. Settling in California, he worked in close conjunction with David Rose. Soon, Paul Whiteman appointed Al chief arranger and associate conductor on his Chase and Sanborn Hour radio program which emanated from Hollywood. Al Sack's orchestra recorded for Black and White Records and also made a number of recordings with such vocalists as Tony Martin, Ginny Simms, Andy Russell, Frank Morgan, Ann Sothern, Fred Astaire, Gracie Fields and Dinah Shore.
