Alan is Director, Asia-Pacific based in Shanghai. He leads a team based across a network of offices in Australia, China and Hong Kong, India, Korea, Japan and the ASEAN region.. Prior to this appointment, Alan was Head of the Industrial and Life Sciences Division within Enterprise Ireland, based in Dublin. He has served on a number of internal. and external committees, including being a founding board member of the Irish Bio Industries Association, and representing Enterprise Ireland on the Ireland Aid Trade Policy Review Group.. During his career, Alan has worked in both the private and public sectors. In the former, he has worked in the engineering, computer, and water treatment industries, while in the latter he has worked in trade promotion and development in Asia, Europe and the USA.. From 1989 to 1994, as Director of Optronics Ireland, he managed national R&D programmes in lasers and optoelectronics technologies at five University-based research labs
