Alan B. Oppenheimer graduated from MIT in 1983. His thesis was on new networking technology called Ethernet.. He worked for Apple Computer from 1983 to 1994, helping to design the AppleTalk network system for the original Macintosh computer and playing key roles in such products as the LaserWriter printer, AppleShare file server, Apple Internet. Router and Apple Remote Access.. Alan founded Open Door Networks in 1995. Open Door is an Apple-focused software company, specializing in mobile apps and Internet security software. The company is located in Ashland, Oregon. Alan is co-author of the books 'Internet Security for Your Macintosh and iPhone: A Guide for the Rest of Us' and 'Inside AppleTalk.'. Alan is also the creative force behind the Art Authority, a popular mobile art browsing application. He is also president of the Alan and Priscilla Oppenheimer Foundation.
