Alex has worked for over a decade as an entrepreneur, a scientist, and a strategy consultant.. Prior to joining WHEB he spent 3 years at The Boston Consulting Group, where he advised Fortune 500 companies, mainly on growth strategies, restructuring issues and efficient organizational design. Before BCG he started his own VC-funded cleantech. company, Enval Ltd., which won the two main business plan competitions in Cambridge. Enval is currently in the process of commercializing a proprietary pyrolysis technology for value extraction from packaging waste. Alex also worked for six years as an oncology researcher in the biotech industries of Germany and Silicon Valley.. Alex was a Gates Scholar at Cambridge, where he completed a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering. There he founded the Cambridge University Technology and Enterprise Club (cutec), organizers of the yearly Technology Ventures Conference. He also holds B.S. (hons.) and M.S. degrees in Biological Sciences from Stanford University in California. He speaks German, English and Italian fluently.
