Ringom grew up in Lillehammer, Norway, the son of author and professional motivator Bjørn Ringom. Unemployed he decided to apply for participation in the Norwegian Big Brother-show, ending up as the youngest contestant in the house. As he himself put it: "At that time of year (winter) I was going to stay indoors anyway!" After 100 days the youngster had charmed his way into the heart of thousands of viewers with his solicitious nature combined with priceless crazy antics. He finally ended up the big winner receiving the prize money of 1,000,000 NOK (roughly $100,000). Shortly after his victory he was approached by actresses Linn Skåber and Siw Anita Andersen to co-star with them and the popular comedy group Lompelandslaget in their new stage-show. The show would become a huge success, drawing thousands who wanted to see more of the crazy antics of young Ringom (including parodies on his former fellow contestants).
