Alex Brown

Alex is a Marine Biologist, who obtained his doctorate degree in Natural Resources from the University of Kiel in Germany and has more than 20 years experience in aquaculture. He has been working closely with the academia, industry, and Government. Alex worked for the Fisheries and Aquaculture Regulatory Board of Chile, where he reached the head. position at the Environmental Planning Department. He has extensive experience working at the international level as a negotiator of international agreements at bilateral and multilateral levels. He has worked at the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the UN as an Aquaculture Expert in the Multidisciplinary Team for South America. Alex is one of the four members of the Off Shore Aquaculture Task Force of the Sustainable Salmon Program from CORFO and also a member of different scientific and professional societies. He also has a senior scientific role at the Industrial Bio Sustainable Division of Fraunhofer Chile Research.
