Allen Daugird, MD, MBA, is president of UNC Faculty Physicians and chief value officer for UNC Health Care. In this role, he is responsible for the clinical enterprise of the School of Medicine's clinical departments, which includes more than 1,100 clinical faculty. Dr. Daugird is also president of UNC Physicians Network, a UNC Health Care. System network of regional community physician practices.. Dr. Daugird is a family physician by training, and started his career as founding medical director of a federally-funded rural health clinic in Anson County, NC. Since then, he has served as a medical school faculty member at the University of Missouri-Columbia and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.. Prior roles at UNC include co-director of the UNC Family Medicine Center, vice chair of the department of family medicine, and medical director and senior vice president of ambulatory care. He is a graduate of the UNC School of Medicine and the University of Missouri family medicine residency program.
