Over his 35 year career, Al has focused on community planning, environmental design, and regional/strategic planning. Armed with this team building ability, as well as his commitment to conservation, he has served as the principal planner for more than 100 communities, prepared strategic plans encompassing more than 800,000 acres, and served. as CEO of his former firm, now part of Stantec, during a decade of rapid growth and diversification. His most rewarding recent endeavor was creating Florida’s first Rural Land Stewardship Plan - a collaborative public/private planning process recognized as a model for incentive driven conservation, agricultural protection, and sustainable development.. When he isn’t working, you will likely find Al on the water or in the air – he enjoys sailing, kayaking and flying; exploring the coastlines of south Florida and the Caribbean islands. His current favorite place to be is Naples Bay at sunrise, paddling with the dolphins and manatees.
