He began his career in broadcasting at KHVH-TV in Honolulu as news anchor/reporter from 1966 to 1971. While living in Honolulu he appeared uncredited in at least one episode of Hawaii Five O, Season 2 (1970) {Three Dead Cows at Makapuu: Part I (#2.23)} playing an Army lieutenant.
