Prior to starting at Foundation Holdings, Mr. Sharma worked as a. financial analyst at Bank of America Merrill Lynch and the Lehman Brothers, where he focused on mergers and acquisitions and leveraged finance transactions in the media and telecom sectors in both the US and Europe. He has held senior leadership positions at Sun Capital Partners, a USD10 billion middle-market private equity firm focused on investing in distressed and underperforming companies and one that’s invested in more than 340 companies worldwide with combined sales in excess of $45 billion. He has also held senior leadership roles at Ithmar Capital. A former founding senior management member and head of education at Amanat Holdings – a company listed at AED2.5 billion on the Dubai Financial Market – Mr. Sharma was a key figure behind the 2013 Al Noor Hospitals deal, a flagship transaction in the GCC private equity sector that saw the company listed on the London Stock Exchange.. Mr. Sharma is the founder of the Atharv Education Foundation and an active donor and volunteer for Dubai Cares as well as the Clinton Foundation. He sits on several boards in India and the GCC, including the Middle East Advisory Council, Indian Business and Professional Council (IBPC) and the American Business Council of Dubai..
