During his career, Alex was the founder and managing director of Dell Ventures, responsible for Dell Computer Corporation's strategic investment activity. Prior to founding Dell Ventures, Alex served as. Dell’s treasurer, where he developed Dell’s successful share repurchase program, played an instrumental role in the formation of Dell Financial Services, and managed the cash and asset management program that caused Dell’s cash conversion cycle to go from 43 days at the end of 1995 to negative fourteen days. As treasurer, Alex was responsible for Dell’s capital structure, foreign exchange and interest rate management, global banking relationships, and investments. Prior to joining Dell, Alex held finance and treasury management positions with Commodore International Ltd. and EDS.. Alex is a Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Meritage Capital, L.P. He serves as a Member of the Board of Trustees and Finance and Investment Committee of the Children’s Medical Center Foundation of Central Texas. Alex is also a Member of the MBA Investment Fund Advisory Committee at the University of Texas, and a Member of the Dean’s Business Advisory Council for University of Florida’s Warrington College of Business Administration.
