Alex S. Ying is a Managing Director advising on Asian buyout opportunities. He is based in Hong Kong.. Prior to joining Carlyle Asia, Mr. Ying spent four years as a member of Carlyle’s U.S. Real Estate Group, where he was involved in over $1 billion of acquisitions. Prior to joining Carlyle, Mr. Ying was an investment banker with CIBC. Oppenheimer, where he focused on a variety of industries, including telecom and healthcare. Prior to that, Mr. Ying worked in both the Acquisition and Asset Management groups of Colony Capital, a global real estate private equity firm.. Mr. Ying received his M.B.A. from the Anderson School at the University of California, Los Angeles. He received a B.S. from the University of California, Los Angeles, and a master's degree in real estate development from the University of Southern California. Mr. Ying is currently a board director of Caribbean Investment Holdings Limited, Chongqing Polycomp International Corp (CPIC), kbro Limited, Eastern Broadcasting Company, and Ta Chong Bank.
