Adam Benson is the Deputy Executive Director of the Digital Citizens Alliance, a not-for-profit, consumer advocacy group, based in Washington, DC. The Digital Citizens Alliance works to make the Internet a safer place. His most recent work, The Digital Citizens Alliance’s Selling “Slaving” report, looked at the spread of Remote Access Trojans. (RATs) via YouTube and stolen content websites. This report shed light on one of the biggest threats in cybersecurity today was featured in such media outlets as: CNN, BuzzFeed, and local news stations in New York and San Francisco. Previously, Adam worked on Capitol Hill and several congressional campaigns, after a decade as a TV news producer in some of the nation’s largest markets.
