Prior to founding Karma Recycling, Aamir served as the Head of Corporate Strategy at SPML Infra Limited (BSE: 500402) where he developed various multi-national joint venture projects and led the legal and project finance functions for various city water distribution management, waste water management and solid waste management projects across. India. He also served as the Head of Investor Relations and brings with him a host of experience in the fields of private equity and investment banking through his deal experience in the North American, European and Japanese markets.. Prior to joining SPML, Aamir worked with Friend Skoler & Co., a middle-market private equity fund in New York to identify and execute various transactions including recapitalizations, management buyouts, industry consolidations, ownership transitions, and growth capital opportunities across a broad range of industries. Prior to Friend Skoler, he was Assistant Vice President with Mitsubishi-UFJ Securities� Mergers and Acquisitions Advisory group where he specialized in cross-border M&A transaction origination and execution in New York and Tokyo. Prior to Mitsubishi, Aamir was an investment banking analyst at UBS Investment Bank�s Mergers and Acquisitions group in London and New York, where he focused on valuation and board advisory mandates for various public and private companies.. Aamir was the Co-Chairman of the expert committee on Water Resources & Solid Waste Management of the PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry. He is also a member of Confederation of Indian Industry (CII)�s Urbanization & Future Cities Council 2011-12 for policy formulation and reform.. Aamir earned a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering and Economics from Northwestern University (Evanston, IL, USA) where he was a Ford Motor Company Dean Scholar. He is an alumnus of St. Mary's School (ICSE) and Jai Hind College in Mumbai and is proficient in English, Hindi and conversant in Spanish.
