Aadik Shekar’s first attempt at entrepreneurship was as a 9 year old, running a paper plane flying contest (with his sister and neighbor) for the neighborhood kids with prizes based on a cut of the entrance fee. Unfortunately, the venture failed to meet revenue projections beyond the first event and was soon shut down. Other such adventures and a. youth spent living around the world (India, Ethiopia, Philippines, before moving to Pittsburgh) transpired, with the net outcome being a belief that the best way to fundamentally improve human development was through entrepreneurship.. Prior to joining Khosla Ventures in 2007, Aadik spent 3 years at as an Analyst and Associate at Charles River Associates, (http://www.crai.com/), a leading economic and management consulting firm. At CRA, Aadik has spent his time working on complex econometric and financial analysis, both for consulting in strategic opportunities as well as supporting security litigation cases involving multi-billion $ settlements.. Aadik earned his B.S in BA with a concentration in Finance from Carnegie Mellon. In his spare time, he is an avid reader and information / political junkie. In addition to reading, he is a devout believer in the cult of the San Francisco Giants (who finally won a WS on his birthday in 2010).
