While at University Venture Fund (UVF), Alex has worked on a variety of due diligence efforts covering: project management software, disposable medical products, consumer products, VoIP communications, peer-to-peer marketplaces, mobile authentication security software, online education in the developing world, and many others. Prior to joining the fund, Alex was an Analyst at United Mergers and Acquisitions, a mid-market sell side advisory firm where he represented companies in industries including: manufacturing, media, logistics, publishing, ecommerce, and software. He worked with private equity buyers as well as strategic buyers including publically traded companies.. In addition to UVF, Alex was a first round judge for the Utah Entrepreneur Challenge, Utah’s largest business plan competition. He was a research analyst to Final Round Judges in the Dell Social Innovation challenge. He has also attended TechCrunch Disrupt, the premier startup conference, and multiple finance conferences covering private and public equity investing.. Alex is completing a degree in Finance from the University of Utah. During his studies he was involved in Profiles of Leadership, an invite only course for the top 1% of the student body that featured successful university alumni sharing their experiences as executives. He also participated in the Week on Wall Street where he met a variety of banking and investing professionals..
