Folke Bernadotte, Greve af Wisborg, was the son of Count Carl August Bernadotte of Wisborg (formerly Prince Oscar of Sweden, Duke of Gotland), and his wife, née Ebba Henrietta Munck af Fulkila. He was the grandson of King Oscar II and the nephew of King Gustaf V of Sweden.
