Adam Maurer joined Citizen Schools in early 2013 as the Chief Talent Acquisition and Human Resources Officer. Adam is a human resources executive and psychology practitioner focused on the identification of key attributes that can be used during interview to differentiate individuals most likely to drive stellar results for students in K-12. settings. Prior to joining Citizen Schools, he served as the head of talent for National Heritage Academies, the nation’s largest charter school management organization. Adam holds a Bachelors degree, as well as a Masters in Applied Positive Psychology (MAPP) from the University of Pennsylvania where he conducted research under the supervision of Dr. Angela Duckworth on the role of grit, as well as other character traits, as predictors of teacher performance. Additionally Adam holds a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) from the certification arm of the Society of Human Resources Managers (SHRM) and was awarded an innovation award in 2012 for his work in HR systems by Oracle/Taleo.
