Alex Foxley

Alejandro Foxley was appointed Executive Director for the constituency of Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Paraguay, Peru and Uruguay on November 1, 2014.. Early in his career, Mr. Foxley was a researcher at the Instituto Latinoamericano de Estudios Transnacionales in Chile. From 1993 till 1996, he was an Advisor to the Executive Director at the World. Bank Group, and moved to become a Senior Advisor to the Secretary-General at the Organization of American States. In 2001, he took on the Special Advisor position to the Government of Chile to negotiate the Free Trade Agreement with the United States, and in 2004, he became the Economic Counselor at the Embassy of Chile to the United States.. Before joining the Board of the World Bank Group, Mr. Foxley was the Alternate Executive Director for Chile and Peru at the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB). This position was followed by the Executive Director post for Chile and Ecuador at the IDB. Before becoming the Executive Director at the World Bank Group, Mr. Foxley was the Alternate ED in the same office (EDS08).. Mr. Foxley holds a MA in Political Science from Georgetown University, Washington, D.C., and a BA in Political Science from the University of Notre Dame, Indiana.
