He was a production designer and art director, known for Die Mädchen von Rochefort (1967), Sie küßten und sie schlugen ihn (1959) and Die Regenschirme von Cherbourg (1964). He was married to Jacqueline Moreau. He died on August 8, 2006 in Barbâtre, Vendée, France.
