He was a resident of Pasadena from 1924 to 1964; whereby, he spent the last year of his life in Newport Beach. He was a graduate of the Pasadena Playhouse where he appeared in "Captain Brassbound's Conversion"(played the character Osman), "Lightnin", as well as other plays from 1932 to 1933. He then worked as the director of dramatics at St. James Methodist Church for 10 years as well as an actor and director at the Glendale Center Theatre for over 10 years prior to entering Hollywood films and TV serials in 1954.
