He originally wanted to voice Sonic in 4Kids Entertainment's English language dub Sonic X (2003). 4Kids Entertainment denied to hire him because he didn't reside in New York City. He did offered to move to New York City so he could reprise the role, but 4Kids Entertainment also declined that too. Instead, they hired Jason Griffith, who later became his succeeder.
