Carlos R. Bardasano is president of W Studios, the new production joint venture between Univision Communications Inc. (UCI) and internationally acclaimed producer Patricio Wills (Reina del Sur and La Viuda Negra). The new production company develops and produces primetime series exclusively created for Latin America and the U.S. Hispanic market.Previously, Bardasano was vice president of Original Content for Univision Networks, overseeing all the production of original content from UCI's main content providers such as Televisa, Sony, Caracol, RTI and Venevision. He was also vice president of Programming and Original Production for Univision's UniMás broadcast network, responsible for all programming, production and strategy and the launch of the new network. Earlier in his career, in 2003, he held the position of vice president of Programming Development of Univision Television Networks where he was in charge of building fresh and innovative programming for all of UCI's broadcast and cable networks.Before, at NBC Universal, Bardasano held the position of executive vice president of Entertainment responsible for all programming and content for the Telemundo Network. Prior to that, he was vice president of Programming at Telemundo, in charge of all primetime programming and production. Bardasano made the transition to Telemundo after working as a production executive for Sony Pictures Entertainment, Telemundo's parent company at the time. He joined Sony Pictures Entertainment in 1998.He began his television career at Universal Studios in Los Angeles working on NBC sitcoms in 1996. He then held executive and supervisory positions at Paramount Pictures and Sony Pictures Television, overseeing primetime content. He was awarded a master of science degree in television management from the College of Communications at Boston University.
