Amar Shah

Amar is an Entrepreneur in Residence at firstminute focusing on ML and AI technologies. Most recently Amar was CEO and co-founder of Wayve, a company developing an end-to-end machine learning stack for self-driving cars. He was responsible for raising $40 million and building a team of 60 world-class engineers in the UK. Previously Amar has been a. Quantitative Strategist at Goldman Sachs, and subsequently completed a PhD in Machine Learning at the University of Cambridge working with Prof Zoubin Ghahramani and Prof Yoshua Bengio, the 2018 winner of the Turing Award. Amar's research was awarded the European Qualcomm Innovation Fellowship in 2015 and the EPSRC Doctoral Prize in 2016. Amar has also applied Machine Learning to the Grand Asteroid Challenge at NASA, where his project was presented in the White House and he won a Planetary Defense Award.
