Hello! My name is Dr. Ali Khoynezhad and I am a cardiac surgeon having graduated from University of Cologne College of Medicine, Koln, Germany in 1996. To date, I have performed approximately 3,000 cardiac surgeries, of which 1,100 involved heart valve procedures. I regularly perform surgery at MemorialCare Heart & Vascular Institute. As a board-certified cardiovascular surgeon, I perform all aspects of heart surgery, including coronary bypass operations and complex valve repair and replacements. My biggest clinical focuses are valve surgery, atrial fibrillation operations and aortic procedures. I am an active national physician trainer, having trained over 550 surgeons and physicians in abdominal, thoracic endovascular aortic repair and atrial fibrillation procedures. I have been the principal investigator for 20 industry-sponsored clinical trials involving current and future generations of aortic stent grafts and cardiac devices, while taking the national and international principle investigator role in four clinical trials. My research findings have been published extensively, and the discoveries have resulted in many inventions and patents including valve-in-valve procedures, and percutaneous Endo-Bentall procedure that can offer less-invasive alternative for patients with for the ascending aorta and the aortic root disease that is performed through the groin vessels..
