Hailing from Massapequa, NY, Chris Ryan is a Los Angeles-based composer whose credits span film, television, video games and theatre. While a film major at the University of Miami, Chris's piano arrangement 'Six Years of LOST Music' attracted the attention of Academy Award winning composer Michael Giacchino, leading to their collaboration on the Billboard-charted album, 'LOST: Music from the Island for Solo Piano' (2012). Since then, Chris has gone on to write original music for content across platforms including Apple+, Netflix, Hulu and Amazon Prime. In 2019, Chris worked as an orchestrator on Benjamin Wallfisch's rousing score for DC Films' #1 box office hit Шазам! (2019). A 2019 participant in the ASCAP Film Scoring Workshop and recipient of the ASCAP Steve Kaplan Award, Chris previously served as assistant to orchestrator David Krystal, with whom he worked on projects for composers Benjamin Wallfisch, Harry Gregson-Williams, and Tom Howe, among others. His work has been featured at New York's Museum of Modern Art (MoMA), Off Broadway, Steinway Hall, The Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre, on Funny Or Die, and in film festivals internationally.
