He was a production designer and art director, known for Las señoritas de Rochefort (1967), Los cuatrocientos golpes (1959) and Los paraguas de Cherburgo (1964). He was previously married to Jacqueline Moreau. He died on August 8, 2006 in Barbâtre, Vendée, France.
